About Me

I help others communicate by visualizing how we navigate complex ecosystems and social dynamics.

Sometimes I wear glasses.

Sometimes I wear glasses.

I started out as a graphic designer because I cared about community and civic engagement. In that time, I’ve elevated many missions and initiatives through the design process, connecting people to messages I believed in.

As I’ve honed my craft — which has included working with talented leadership at EarlyWorks, llc and in beautiful spaces like the Detroit Institute of Arts — I came to realize that I what I was actually interested in was how and why people were connecting to those messages.

In looking for ways to expand my own understanding of communication and design, I started to teach others to explore their own relationship to these concepts.

All of this eventually led me to earn a Masters in Civic Media, studying more closely community ecosystems and social power dynamics. I began engaging with intersecting practices involving connected learning, transmedia participation and collaborative leadership, and now focus my work in human-centered design strategy and research, communication framing, systems thinking and interdependence.
